As part of our Tameside Supported Accomodation, you'll work one-to-one with service users, preparing their support plans and gaining a full understanding of their needs and concerns. Helping them with everything from their benefits to booking medical appointments, you'll need to love talking to people with different needs, be interested in helping them and possess a deep level of empathy, understanding and patience.
We're looking for a Support Worker who knows how to build close relationships and gain people's trust quickly. You don't need any formal qualifications as full training will be given, although NVQ in Social Care would be a big advantage. What is essential is that you have at least 12 months proven experience in a similar role along with a good awareness of mental health problems and can bring with you the flexibility to work in across a shift pattern, including evenings and weekends. In return, you'll be supported with outstanding training and career development opportunities.
Running health facilities and services on a not-for-profit basis, we invest every penny back into our care - and our people. So, if you're ambitious and focused on mental health, choose a Support Worker career that adds real value.
