Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship.

Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities, through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing and related support.

As a Group Facilitator Support Volunteer you will:

• Supporting the established groups which take place within South Tyneside Adult Recovery Service each week. Groups run throughout the week.
• Attending groups
• Helping the facilitator to set up and run the session.
• Supporting people within the group – this could include emotional support.
• Share a group agreement at the start of each session, including respect and confidentiality.
• Reporting any concerns, including safeguarding that may arise in the group.
• Work closely with the group worker to plan and evaluate sessions.
• Sharing feedback and suggesting improvements or ideas for future sessions
• Procure necessary resources such as flip chart, paper and pens, tea and coffee if facilities available.
• Support the Group Worker with any tasks linked to the running of the group.
