Description
This role is based in Smithfield, our 22-bed specialist in-patient detoxification unit in Manchester city centre.
The service offers an evidence-based and clinically safe inpatient detox service which offers Psychosocial Interventions (PSI) alongside the medically managed detox. Our programmes offer a care planned approach based entirely on the recovery model, placing the people we support at the centre of treatment provision.
Running health facilities and services on a not-for-profit basis, we invest every penny back into our care - and our people. So, if you're ambitious and focused on clinical excellence, you can look forward to excellent training and progressing a clinical career with real value.
As a Recovery Worker you will support our clinical and recovery teams to deliver high-quality person-centred services to those struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.
In a role where no two days are the same, you will engage with our clients through group work and activities, providing individual support and enabling the people we support to make informed choices about their future.
You’ll have proven experience of working in a busy environment as a Recovery Worker or similar, you'll have a deep understanding of the substance use and the Recovery Agenda.
It's an extremely varied role, so flexibility and knowledge of relapse and other barriers to recovery will be vital. We are looking to recruit candidates with excellent communication skills and, ideally, a vocational qualification, such as an NVQ 3 or equivalent.
